Caroline Aksich is a writer and researcher living in Toronto, Canada. Caroline is omnivorous—whether it’s food or writing assignments, the ex-Montrealer’s keen to try just about anything. On the writing front, she’s penned everything from first-person narratives about hunting octopus in the Adriatic to celebrity profiles and restaurant reviews.
You can find her byline in Toronto Life, Fodor’s, Escapism, DesignLines, Bay Street Bull, Foodism, Canadian Business, Glory, Post City, Allergic Living, et al. Recently, Caroline wrote the new Frommer’s Guide entitled Toronto, Niagara and the Wine Country—as you can probably guess from the title, it’s a comprehensive guidebook to Toronto, Niagara, and Prince Edward County. Caroline also has a number of regular columns including Kitchen Diaries for Toronto Life, a series that looks at how the city’s top chefs cook and eat at home, and Toronto’s Essential Dishes, another series for TL that asks food folk what is that oh-so Toronto dish.
The National Magazine Gold Award winner is passionate about food, chef culture, urban planning and municipal politics. When not tethered to her laptop, Caroline enjoys biking around her ever-growing city, playing rugby, eating and hosting dinner parties (which also involve more eating).
